These adorable Read, Trace, Check flap books provide students with opportunities to practice reading, handwriting, and fine motor skills all in one activity! Students will read the word on the front of the book, trace it, and check themselves by opening the flap to see a picture beneath! They are easy to prepare; simply print double-sided (choose flip on long edge on your printer menu). If you are using an inkjet printer, just re-insert the page manually after printing one side. To make the book, students cut out the whole book on the outer solid line, fold on the dotted line, then cut the front flaps. Alternatively, you may prepare the books ahead of time and only have students complete the tracing portion. I’ve used blackline graphics so that students can color the pictures as well.
