Do you have kiddos who are in need of short vowel intervention? This packet focuses on the CVC pattern with a variety of materials to help your students reach mastery.
I have organized things in a way that allows you to mix and match the vowel sounds you need to work on.
This packet includes:
8 Word Sorts
270 cards (90 words)
3 different levels
Example Intervention Lesson
Word Sorts are a great way to focus in on sorting words based on vowel sounds.
The Clip Puzzles are grouped into vowel sound groups. This will allow you to only use the sound(s) you have practiced with the student or all sounds, at your discretion.
Clip puzzles are in provided for three different difficulty levels. I have also given a list of tips to help you choose the way to implement the cards.
I would love to hear how you tailor these materials to your needs. I attempted to make them as flexible and easy to use as possible.
The words included on the clip puzzles and the word sorts are not the same, but may overlap. I hoped to add variety of words for students to practice.
It is okay to tell the student a word on a clip puzzle. Recite the word for them and then allow them to clip it. Example: The card for the word "gal" could be tricky. That is okay. It is a puzzle. The goal is to practice short vowels.
Some cards contain blends. Use the cards that you know will help your student gain short vowel mastery.
