Short vowel sorts are great for students who need practice discriminating between vowel sounds. My students often have difficulty knowing when to write an “e” vs. an “i” when they sound out words in their writing. With these sorts, you can target the vowel sounds your students struggle with most in their spelling and writing.
I use these materials with my intervention groups, special education students, and summer school centers. We sort the colored picture cards as a group, then students work through an individual sort independently.
