Short & Long Vowel Sound Mega Bundle $14

Vowels are the building blocks of words and are essential when learning to read and write. Understanding and hearing vowels properly will improve spelling, reading, speech, and comprehension. This resource supports students in developing their phonological awareness {CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.2, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.1.2} and phonics and word recognition {CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.3, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.1.3, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.2.3}.

Included in this bundle:

- Five Posters with attractive pictures and four words representing each short vowel sound. There is one poster for each short vowel sound (a/e/i/o/u/).

- Seven QR Codes linking to loving2learn’s Short Vowel Sound books on YouTube

- One bookmark representing all of the short vowel sounds

A: apple, cat, hat, bat
E: net, hen, shell, egg
I: pig, fish, sick, mitten
O: dog, frog, sock, lock
U: sun, duck, drum, bug

The bookmark will provide additional support for your students and can also be used when reading (or even glued inside the students writing workbooks or folder).

I recommend hanging your posters down a long ribbon in your classroom. If you’re lucky enough to have access to a mobile device (i.e. ipad) in your classroom, students can scan the QR codes and listen to the vowel sound stories. This is a great literacy center activity, or you can send them home with the students for home practice.

Check out my Short Vowel Sound Interactive Flipbook. This is a perfect home-learning activity which also includes the QR codes.

Happy reading, writing and spelling!

Sarah Anne :)
