Use for center work, morning work, review activity or homework.
Choose from 48 unique game boards to meet your students’ needs.
Includes an EDITABLE TEMPLATE (as a Powerpoint file), so you can create endless game boards with your own words. (This would be a great game for sight words, too!)
This product covers the following short vowel word families:
Short A: -at –an –ap –ad –ag
Short I: -ip –it –in –ig –id
Short O: -ox –ot –op –og
Short U: -ug –ut –un –ub –up
Short E: -et –en –ed –ell
Ends in ck: -ack –ick –ock –uck -eck
Differentiation is easy with two different versions* of each game board:
“A” game boards use CVC WORDS only and are designed for beginning readers.
“B” game boards combine initial DIGRAPHS/BLENDS with CVC WORDS and are designed for more capable readers.
(*the –ut, -un, and –et word families have only the “A” game board version because there are not enough viable blend/digraph words in these families.)
This game works well as a recurring center activity. Just change out the game board to match your phonics objectives for the week. You only teach your students how to play ONCE!
Use as disposable copies or laminate to reuse as a write and wipe game board.
