Students will sort consonant-vowel-consonant words based on the middle vowel sound that they hear. The middle vowels include short a, short i, short o and short e sounds. Pictures for headings include a cat, bed, mop and lips. Words include dad, mat, bag, sit, win and other similiar words. This worksheet can be used as a cut and paste activity or you can just have the students write in the words in the boxes. The words and pictures should be easily decodable by all students including English Language Learners.
