- For advanced Kindergartners (who are “ready” for these skills)
- For First Graders (introduce or reinforce these skills)
- For Second Graders and Others (who need review or remediation)

Essential Vocabulary the teacher may want to use when teaching: - Letter, capitalize, word, order, sentence, punctuation, period, main topic, describe, identify, illustrate, illustrator, details

On each worksheet:
- Unscramble words to make a sentence
- Color the first letter in the sentence green
- Color the large period red
- Cut and paste words in sentence order
- Write the sentence
- Write the main topic (examples for every worksheet are provided)
- Illustrate the sentence (show comprehension)

Additional Activities:
- Write the missing “u” in the CVC word
- Trace, color, read, and spell the CVC word on each flashcard
- Cut out the flashcards to play a game with a partner: Without showing it, describe to partner the card you are holding. Partner should then SPELL the flashcard s/he thinks you are holding
-Match short “u” words with their pictures

Differentiation, detailed instructions, and three coloring sheets/posters are included:
- Every sentence starts with a capital letter
- A telling sentence ends with a period
- A sentence should make sense
