This product include a chart for each of the short vowels (a, e, i, o, u). The first line for each vowel requires the student to say the vowel sounds, not the names. Lines 2-4 contain sight words that use the designated vowel for a particular page (note that line 3 are words that may be longer to encourage your students to attempt harder words using the same concept). Line 5 are two word phrases, which lead to line 6 that consist of actual sentences.
Toughy charts are really easy to use. They can be used for whole group/small group instruction to introduce a concept and/or provide extra practice. If needed, they can also be used for assessment before moving on to another skill.
