Thank you for previewing this multisensory lesson in PDF format with student activities that can used over and over to support student memory for eventual automatic and immediate recall of short vowels through the use of visual cues and multisensory activities.
Since pre-k and kindergarten students are just beginning to learn to read, there are visual cues, not word to support short vowel development of each sound.

Do you have students who require a great deal of one-to-one teaching time due to limited reading skills? Well this is a great packet to use to support student development of short vowels.

These multisensory lessons are based on the principles and research of The Orton Gillingham approach, a multisensory, explicit, sequential, and cumulative approach, which incorporates over-learning and a continual review of skills. Short vowels for many students can be problematic, and require review and reinforcement.

The multisensory lessons including cue cards of each short vowel, book marks for student in keep in a folder to quick reference, and multisensory activities that can be used in a class setting, independently, small group, or whole class are included. Well this is a great learning tool to support students learning after initial presentation, and directions, with less teacher directed time. There is a great opportunity for students to also increase memory and recall, while becoming more independent!
