Are you in need of a way to integrate your phonics and reading comprehension? I was! That's why I created this shared reading (focused on character traits) to pair with my short a game.
Trying to differentiate phonics always stressed me out. I hated having students work on completely different things. I developed my phonics games and shared reading so that all of my students could work on the same target skill at different levels. Each level works with the word families: ap, am, an, at, and ag.
Level 1: cvc words
Level 2: cvc words and words with digraphs
Level 3: words with digraphs and blends
Level 4: words with digraphs, blends, and suffixes
I have also included a word sort, a differentiated fluency page, a short a pretest and self assessment that will place your students at the correct level, and a comprehension component. The shared reading allows your students to pick their own ending based on different character traits. Students will truly be engaged and working on skills they need. Enjoy!
