This pack contains two activities for your kiddos to practice the short and long I sounds. The Short I Rhyming Igloos are a great way for kids to listen for and hear the short I sound, while also working on their rhyming skills. There are six different short I endings for the students to practice, with each ending on an igloo. The endings include -ig, -in, -ix, -ip, -ick, and -ing. The students must place the short I snowballs (which contain pictures with a short I rhyme) into the appropriate igloo. Students can also practice differentiating short and long I sounds by completing the Short and Long I Sort. Students must paste pictures into the appropriate column, and the teacher can assess their ability to differentiate the sounds.
