Students will complete the task cards on short and long vowels. Students will read the word on each task card and answer the question: Does the (first) vowel have a short or long vowel sound? An extension activity can be students identifying the sound and vowel letter of each word. Place the task cards in your literacy stations so students can work independently. There are 52 cards, plus a cover card, and a direction card.
An answer key is provided. This activity is brought to you by "PRECIOUS ITEMS."
My students enjoy completing task cards and it helps me to identify students that still have difficulty with a skill taught. I have a task card literacy station that each student rotates into every few days.
