Here is a game all ready for you to print and use. There are 24 different Bingo cards with 8 short e pictures each. There are a total of 39 word cards/pictures to help the children practice the sound of short e. This is a great game to use in a small group or whole group setting.
To use the decoding calling cards, I cover the card, and reveal one letter at a time. The children tell the letter sound as each letter is revealed. They blend the sounds to decode the word and then move the cover off the card to reveal the picture to verify if they are right. I like to use these with the Bingo game to get the decoding practice in. There are challenge cards that have short e words with blends and/or digraphs. I put these cards on the bottom of the pile. When we play the game, each child gets a chance to decode the word and then the children look for the picture on their bingo cards. When I get to one of my advanced students, I just pull from the bottom. Great way to differentiate without the children noticing.
I have a bingo game with decoding cards for each vowel. Soon, I will create a mixed vowel bingo game with decoding cards for review. These decoding cards helped my children with the Dibels NWF test as they have gotten really good with decoding. Please contact me if you have any problems: firstname.lastname@example.org
