One of my favorite culture building items in my classroom is the use of Shout Out tickets. I have them readily available in a pencil box for the kids to access. They complete it and let me know if someone in the class went out of their way to show kindness. The usual responses I get are help with homework, cleaning, or with a problem. I hang these on a bulletin board for the whole year and can usually fill up at least half. I give the person who receives the Shout Out a Dojo Point (or whatever your classroom currency is!) At the end of the year I put all the tickets in a box and draw one out - the two students on the ticket both get a prize.
The first page of the file is for box cover to take and give tickets, the second is the tickets to cut out.
