This product is part of the Showing vs. Telling: Bundle Pack
This product contains 2 Powerpoint presentations with writing prompts for students to practice “Show, Don’t Tell.”
The first Powerpoint contains 7 writing prompts that require descriptions. In the preview, these have a red border.
The next Powerpoint contains 9 emotion prompts, 5 of which have examples in the Notes section of the presentations. Emotions are a critical area for showing the reader instead of telling. If you write “Mike was scared,” the readers won’t feel his fear. Readers don’t care what a character feels; they care about what they experience through the character. These prompts say to describe a character with a specific emotion without naming the emotion.
