This printable asks students to show that they can use the following strategies to solve the same equation:
• Drawing base-ten blocks
• Making a number line
• Using a 120 chart
On page 2, they are also required to explain, in words, how they used 1 of their strategies to reach their solution.
This can be used over and over as:
• In-class practice
• An effective assessment
There is a space provided on each side for you to write in equations, customizing them to what your students are learning at the moment (double-digit addition, adding tens, double-digit subtraction, regrouping, etc.) .
Easily differentiate by writing different equations for each student or groups of students with differing needs.
Tired of peeking during tests? Give each student a different equation so they are required to reach their own answers.
