I use this t-chart when I do close reads that focus on finding evidence to support answer choices. I type out answer choices to each question and have kids cut them out. Then, we work together to decide if we have enough evidence in the passage to support each answer. If we find evidence, we place the answer choice under "yes". If we don't find sufficient evidence, we place the answer choice under "no". This helps kids to be able to analyze each answer choice carefully before making a final decision. This could also be used in a literacy station, group activity, or individual work.
