The book I am referring to, correlates with the book (Side by Side: A True Story) found in the Fountas and Pinnell Classroom: Shared Reading. This is a part of the "Friendship" unit.
With all the activities that can be completed using this awesome book. I created seatwork and some basic activities that I needed my kiddos to focus on! With the unit of "Friendship", one page simply has the students explain how they know Tarra and Bella are friends (along with drawing a picture). This is my quick check-in for comprehension. Then I pulled in some Language Arts/Phonics focus areas. At the time, we were to learn singular and plural nouns...and short and long vowels. So one sheet has the kiddos go on a book hunt, using the book to find both singular and plural nouns (listing them), and then another page offers the same in terms of hunting for short and long vowels (with a bossy -e).
