This is a fun dress-up game that encourages reasoning, movement, and following directions. Depending on how big your class is, take five bins or buckets and fill them with various clothing and accessories associated with Seasons. Have all the children get in one long line. Give each child a folded slip of paper that has a Season written on it. Tell them not to look at it. Once all the slips have been passed out, tell them it’s ok to unfold and look at their slip of paper. Give them a few seconds to think and then shout GO (you may want to move desks, etc. out of the way). Each child must dress up in items associated with the Season on their slip of paper. When they are done, they must quickly return to their seat (or designated area). A good idea that we do is mark one area as “SPRING” (Science area) “SUMMER” (block area) “WINTER” (music area)and “FALL” (reading area).
