Using a multisensory approach to learning will allow students to become more successful at retaining new info. I created this activity for my students. Dyslexic students need many repetitions to learn an new word, skill or strategy.
This activity is perfect for all learners.
I printed the Build, Write & Read mat on card stock and laminated it. I printed the word cards on card stock as well. This will help them last longer.
It is a set center activity for my students.
Students pick a word card, “build” it with plastic letters, naming the letters as they build the word.
Then students write the sight word three times.
Lastly, students should place the word card under the “Read it” section and read the word aloud. Extend learning and understanding of the sight words by having the student use the word in a sentence correctly.
