*there are 5 different place cards for the kiddos for each set of words that we practice (ten sets of 20 words). The sets of words start to have ‘harder sight words’ as the year goes on. I usually print out the different sets of cards on different colored construction paper so that the kiddos know they are different sets and so that I can remember which ones we’ve already done (for example: set 1 is on pink, set 2 is on yellow, set 3 is on purple)
*There is a master call card for each set of words also. I print out two copies and cut one of them out to use as the markers for the caller.
*4 BONUS SETS OF WORDS (calendar words, school words, color words, number words) with 5 different place cards for the kiddos and a master call card for the caller.
*a page of markers/chips that the students can cut out and use to cover words. I print these out on different colors so that you can easily see them when they are on the cards and then they can be collected and reused many different time. I have also laminated them and cut them with a cutting board so they are more sturdy.
*I love using this activity with my SDC kiddos!!! They love playing bingo and it’s amazing to see that they are practicing and remembering these oh so important words! I use Fry’s first 200 sight words in my classroom. A new sight word is introduced daily, and then practiced daily throughout the school year. It’s amazing how much they can learn. I love playing this game also because it teaches my kiddos social skills and how to be good sports if they don’t win
