Mastering sight words isn't just about recalling the words, it's about recalling AND comprehending the words!
"Sight Word Bingo with a Comprehension Twist" is ideal for the guided reading group (small group) setting. Instead of a sight word being called out, students are shown or read a sentence with a blank in it. Then, students must find a word on their Bingo board that fits in the blank. The best conversations happen when more than one word fits into the blank!
"Sight Word Bingo with a Comprehension Twist" covers pre-primer, primer, first grade, second grade, and third grade Dolch word lists (less than $1 per word list!). Each list is a different color so that you can pick words from any list to use in your game, and then easily sort them back again. Each word has two sentences already made and ready to use! When you print out the words and sentences, you can print the number pages on the back. This way, you can easily find the sentences that match the sight words you want to use.
The Bingo boards are blank because I love giving my students a choice in the words they use! There are nine blanks, so I usually pick twelve to fifteen words for our game. Then, I allow my students to pick the words they want to use. My only rules are they must know how to say the word and they must spell it correctly!
