Practice dolch 1st grade sight words (aligned with Adventures of the Superkids Level 3) this spring with this fun card game to disguise learning!
To celebrate and review all that firsties have learned to read, I have added a spring sight word review card game. The simple and popular 'read and keep' card game is a class favorite and simple to prep.
Students must correctly read the sight word to keep it, and there are 'change it up' cards that require students to give a card away, take another turn, and to stop the game.
Little prep is required, though laminating is recommended. Simply place the cut up cards into a recycled coffee can or a small paper bag, and your kids are set to read and review!
I am lucky enough to have classroom volunteers once a week, so I have included tips for volunteers, to help them remember that asking a child to 'sound it out' won't work as well with sight words.
While I have aligned this set to Adventures of the Superkids Level 3 (Grade 1, Semester 1), it is an appropriate set of review sight words for first graders come springtime.
