This cute caterpillar is a great way to get students excited about sight words! Students begin with the caterpillar head and paste or write sight words to form the caterpillar as they learn to read the words. Each page has enough space for ten sight words.
Completed pages can be compiled into a booklet. Students can keep their booklet handy to refer to when writing - saves the crowd gathering at the word wall! This could also be used as a sight words assessment record if you start at the beginning of the year with the words each student knows, then add the date above each sight word as they learn it - great to visually see how your students have improved.
There is also a larger version of the caterpillar that is designed to be displayed as a word wall with two words per page.
This product contains all 220 words from Dolch's list of sight words. 220 sight words have been included to allow for easy differentiation within your class. Words are ordered based on order of frequency in texts however you can easily change this order to accommodate the learning needs of your students.
Instructions are included in the product. There is also a handy page where students can write the words they are learning this week - they can keep it handy to refer to during learning time or they could take it home to practice their weekly words at home.
