Why Do You Need This Product?
Do you notice some of your students are not learning sight words or are not reading and writing them automatically? Research shows that knowing sight words automatically helps students build fluency. When students know sight words automatically their brain is freed up to work on words they can strategically decode. This product allows teachers to keep track of the words students are mastering so that they will know when to move them up to the next level. This tool can be used in conjunction with running records and comprehension checks in order to inform teaching moves for the next guided reading lesson.
This Sight Word Check List For Guided Reading
tool will help teachers inform instruction in reading and writing. This tool will allow teachers to assess students before teaching begins and to keep track of new words taught and learned for data purposes for guided reading instruction and interventions. The word lists are leveled based on words that show up most often in level A to level J guided reading texts so they are perfect for planning out the new sight word and sight word review portion of the guided reading lesson.
I have included suggested sight word lists and check off sheets for guided reading levels A through J and two blank lists and check off sheets for additional word lists that may be needed.
Thank you for considering my product and have a blessed day!!!
