Sight Word Detective – Locating Sight Words within Text
Here’s an easy way to have students practice sight word identification within text. Copy a book for each child (books are half page, so when you copy the pack just cut in half and you have 2 books). As students read a book, they write the targeted sight word every time it appears in the book and write the page number. This is designed to be in a book format, but you could just run each sheet individually as well. Great for tying into lessons when teaching each sight word or could be used in a center or for early finishers. A title page for the book is included as well as a backside to put on the back of each sight word page if you want more lines for writing words.
These are ready to print – just provide books (and magnifying glasses for a little more fun if you have them!)
The sight words covered are Fry’s first 100.
100 pages with 1 sight word on each (see thumbnail picture
1 "My Sight Word Detective Book" cover page (see thumbnail picture)
1 sight word detective backside to be copied on the back of each of the 100 pages if desired
3 pages of instructions/credit
