Students work together or with an adult helper to practice sight word identification while playing the dynamite game. This can be used as a small group activity, a literacy center activity, a take-home activity, or as an intervention activity.
Included are a set of 142 sight word cards, plus blank cards just incase you are teaching a sight word that is not included.
Read common high-frequency words by sight.
Dynamite is a super simple, but highly engaging game. Students take turns selecting cards. If they know the card they keep it. If not it goes back in the pile/bag/box. But, look out! If a player draws the "Dynamite!" card, OH NO! All their cards go back in. Once all the cards have been selected, the player with the most cards wins.
