In searching for a way to make the first 100 high frequency words assessable to my students without running dozens of copies, I created a sight word flip book. Each page features 5 words in descending order. The words are from the Rebecca Sitton list of “no excuse” words.
To make the book: Print the books on tag board. Cut out the words in strips along the vertical lines. Trim off the top and bottom. Punch on the guide dot. Stack the strips up and put them on a ring. Books may be laminated and student can check off the words that they have memorized with overhead marker.
Also included in the packet is my assessment sheet I use for communicating with parents how many words each child has memorized.
I hope your student find this resourse useful. Please check out my other items for sale at The Little Schoohouse.
