Description
These 92 sight word fluency books and 92 sight word fluency activity sheets are a great way for students to practice sight word fluency, decoding unknown words using picture clues, and handwriting.
Each book and activity sheet introduces one Pre-Primer or Primer sight word. Students read and color the sight word and practice writing the sight word four times. Then, they read three similar sentences, containing the sight word introduced, plus other sight words, many of which were previously taught. The sentences also contain one unknown word, followed by a picture of that word. Students can use the picture clue to decode the unknown word. To further maximize learning, students write each sentence once (on the activity sheets) or twice (in the books) in their best handwriting.
⚠️The sight word fluency activity sheets come in black and white and color. You can either print a sheet for each student, or, to save paper, print and laminate the colored version, or put in sheet protectors, and have students use dry erase markers to complete. Once you move on to a new word, leave the old words at a center for students to practice all year long.
Both of these sight word fluency resources are perfect for morning work, whole groups, small groups, independent work, interventions, and homework.
