This pack contains reading fluency phrases and sentences that are great for beginning or struggling readers.
Each page focuses on one sight word. The dots under the words will remind the kids to track each word with their finger as they read. The pictures will help the students decode the unknown words.
The sight words used are from the Pre-Primer Dolch list. They are introduced systematically, one at a time:
see, the, my, big, little, and, red, is, here, can, you, play, in, look, jump, blue, yellow, go, for, said, not, come, we, up, down, to, me, one, two, three, funny, find, help, away, make, it
Great for Guided Reading center rotations!
“How to use it” ideas:
- Point out the sight word at the top of the page.
- Ask the kids to spell it.
- Talk about each picture and its beginning sound: What letter do you expect the word dinosaur to begin with?
- Ask the kids to touch each dot as they read the words.
-Differentiation: lower kids can read only one page per session, higher kids can read 5 pages per session.
