This seasonal card game includes the following 75 sight words: a, I, so, we, on, am, it, two, of, at, one, see, three, and, his, was, five, in, the, four, like, what, has, my, can, yellow, up, you, if, green, are, she, hot, had, to, not, blue, come, is, with, brown, white, an, me, now, did, red, as, find, go, be, that, will, her, said, make, play, run, for, where, or, but, him, ten, get, good, sit, by, how, they, this, too, went, big, let.
You will also find a few blank cards that you can customize by writing your own sight words (please note that this is not an editable file. You will have to write the words yourself).
It is easy enough for students to play independently. It can be used as a literacy center, or with your small group intervention.
Players take turns drawing cards from the box (I use an empty tissue box), and reading the words. After reading the word they keep the card, but watch out for the special cards!
This type of activity has quickly become one of my students’ favorite learning centers.
