These addition and reading games serve 3 purposes: 1) Students can practice sight word recognition. 2) During the game, students will have to read several sentences more than once, which increases fluency. AND 3) They can practice addition at the same time!
This product has 15 pages of sight word sentences with 10 sentences per page. One set is in black and white and another set is in color so it can be laminated for classroom use (for a total of 30 pages). Over 200 Dolch sight words are included! This game would make a great addition to your literacy or math center. It can also be sent home for extra practice or divide the class into pairs and play it as a group. You can use a set of dice or use one die and a number cube to practice "counting on."
The instructions for the reading/addition game are included at the top of each page. They are as follows: "On your turn, roll the dice. Add the numbers together. Color in a block with the matching sum and read the sentence in that row. Read a sentence every time you color in a number. The first player to color all 4 of the numbers in one row wins!"
