These 8 trail/board games are a fun way to practice the basic high frequency words (aka "sight words") that are found in level A books.
The high frequency sight words used in this game series come directly from the words used in common guided reading books. This set of games uses words that appear often in level A books - the simplest texts for early readers. The words in these games are the same ones students will see in the simple books they are reading. Teaching students the words that will appear in their books (rather than just a general list of high-frequency words) brings meaning to the words and allows students to practice the same kinds of words in both isolation and continuous text. This will strengthen their ability to read these words.
Because the high frequency words in these games correlate to level A books, the games are perfect for beginning readers, struggling readers, and students in reading intervention (ex: RTI). They can be used for review, with parent volunteers, or even in centers.
This product includes 8 games, each in color and black-and-white. It also includes game pieces and spinners, although the games are also fun using dice and buttons as game pieces.
