Engage your students in learning their "mots fréquents" with this fun sight word game in French! With a Saint Patrick's Day theme, this game is played in the style of the English game "Bang". I like to call it "Boum" in French! With over 100 words, as well as a blank template to add your own cards, students will enjoy this game! For the complete list of sight words, please check the preview.

To play: Place the cards you wish to use in a container. Students draw a card. If they can read it, they get to keep the card. If the student gets a leprechaun, he/she says “Donne moi l'or!!” and puts his/her cards back in the container. At the end of the allotted time, the winner is the player with the most amount of cards. Once the game is over, I like to have my students record several of the words they identified on the provided recording sheet.
These versatile cards can also be used as flashcards or to make games like Go Fish, Memory Match or Old Maid. In my classroom, I change the cards each month to work on different sight words and to match our themes!
