Wear a Word - Sight Word Pocket Necklaces
I needed something to help my son start learning his sight words...something that he would have with him all day long so that we could work on a specific word whenever and wherever.
These necklaces were just the solution! The build-a-word cut outs are large and easy for littles to cut and manipulate. The larger than normal size also makes it a little harder for them to lose the pieces. Keep the cut outs tucked inside of the necklace so that your learner can pull them out to build a word at any time of the day!
These are also a perfect way to reinforce sight words at home! Have your students wear them home so that parents can see what sight word they are currently working on. Students will be thrilled to show the new word they can build and read!
In the classroom: Have students all wear different words so that sight word reading becomes a game! (I bet they play at recess, too, when you're not around!) Or have students wear a word that they are struggling to learn. These necklaces are meant to be a fun addition or alternative to whatever other activities you are using.
