Sight word -alphabet books - original books
Here are 11 original letter books to learn beginning sounds and practice sight words. The students color only the part of the book that states the color of an object to help learn color and sight words.
Once introduced in a book, the sight words are included in subsequent books.Each sight word book builds on each other so that students read the same sight words over again and again to gain mastery. The text and graphics in these sight word books are clear for easy access for young children.
Letter books and sight words introduced in each:
A - the, a, red
T - I, it, like, blue
S - see, we, at, orange
M - me, and, you, purple = 2 books, 2 different levels
1 high, 1 low
B - am, this,, my, black = 2 books, 2 different levels
P - is, to, do, yellow = 2 books, 2 different levels
C/D - can, have, what, green = 2 books, 2 different levels
Have the students underline the color words with that color and color only the objects the book tells a color for. Ex: the orange pumpkin. The books get progressively harder. There is 1 book for your higher students and another for your struggling students.
