This sight word packet is designed to reinforce those sight words students have the most difficulty with. Included are 89 of the most challenging sight words that do not, for the most part, follow any of the six syllable types or they fall into the difficult to master category. The words are divided into levels, beginning with pre-primer and include some basic nouns. Most of the words are derived from the longer Dolch list, but were modified into smaller units to help aid understanding of true sight words that cannot be sounded out. This list is especially beneficial for struggling students.
Included in this packet is a simple assessment with a teacher marking form and the student reading list, color coded (by level) sight word flashcards, color coded (by level) sight word phrases, step spelling cards, and Powerpoint flashcards set up so that students can work independently. For the most durability print flashcards on cardstock, cut and laminate. The step spelling cards are designed to be printed on half sheets of cardstock. Laminate these also and the students can mark directly on the cards with Expo markers.
