Fun, energizing and great for all young readers including general education students, students with disabilities such as autism, ADHD, ADD, or a learning disability! This set of sight word or popcorn word songs is the best way I have discovered to teach sight words to all students. Songs and motions are established for each word which creates active learning and engaged students.
This set comes with printable posters, flashcards, writing pages in book format, and mp3 audio clips of each sight word song!
Each sight word is sung to its own song and has a movement incorporated to help your active learners. The audio clips are perfect teaching tools for teachers and students to use together. I have the mp3s downloaded onto my phone for easy use during group time. They can also be burnt to a CD if you prefer. All posters and pages are ready to be printed in color, but look wonderful in black and white also. A lesson plan guide allows you to use the same strategies each week for the 12 different words which reduces the amount of time you have to prep!
After introducing a word, I display these in a designated spot in the classroom. We refer to them often and use them during journal time, whole group activities, and general review. I use the writing pages to create bound books for each student and send them home to practice after we have completed each set at school. The writing pages are also great to use in Language Arts centers throughout the year. I've been using these for several years to teach kindergartners and special education students. 12 words come in this package.
