Why master sight words?
For early readers, sight words make up most of what they read. By learning sight words, students build reading fluency and develop reading and writing confidence that allows them to focus on deeper comprehension.
The key to mastering sight words is practice, practice and oh yeah… practice!
I created this product because, as a 2nd grade teacher, most of my students are proficient in handwriting. They just need a little extra help with mastering sight words. Many sight word resources use primary writing lines and early reader activities. This resource provides students with needed practice using a grade appropriate approach.
This resource is extra practice targeted at helping students become 1st grade sight words experts!
