I designed this activity for students to practice the sight words “I, can, see, the” at the Pocket Chart Station during “S Week”. “I, can, see” and the letter “S” are taught in Unit 1 of the Reading Wonders series by McGraw-Hill.

Students can create “I can see the” sentences on the pocket chart and then record their favorite sentence on the Pocket Chart Recording Sheet. Word cards are color coded to help emergent readers.

Easy Directions:
1. Print word and picture cards on cardstock. Then laminate and cut them out.
2. Make multiple copies of Pocket Chart Recording Sheet.
3. Place at Pocket Chart Station.
4. Model how to create sentences with the words and pictures and how to use the Pocket Chart Recording Sheet during Literacy Station or Center Time.
