Included in this file are 5 different recording sheets for your class, depending on how many students that you have for the scoot.
Print out (and laminate) the sight word cards. Each card has a number, which corresponds to the number on the recording sheet.
To play the scoot, put the cards on individual desks and assign students to a desk to start at. When you start the game, students have to unscramble the tiles to make the sight word and then record it on their answer sheet. **Make sure to tell students to re-scramble the tiles after they write down the word. When you say “SCOOT”, students need to move to the next desk. Make sure that students are recording the right number sight word on the right number on their recording sheet. To help with this, I like to highlight the number on the paper that students are starting at so then they aren’t trying to write down their answer for number 15 in the number 1 slot.
To help LL students, you can play the scoot earlier in the week with buddies and later in the week individually.
Sight Words Included are: (** A and I are not included)
**You can also use the game for a center and not have it be a scoot, but just have students unscramble words and record.
