Sight Word Scramble
We all know Jan Richardson’s “Mix and Fix” strategy for helping kids remember their sight words is phenomenal. I’ve seen first-hand how this one strategy works miracles in the classroom. But “mix and fix” needs you there to present and help monitor. So continue doing that when you are working in small groups. But, here’s a way for students to independently continue to “mix and fix” when they aren’t working with you. They will still be manipulating those letters around to build a sight word. AND they will also get a bonus – they write the word too!
Run this whole packet of and put it in a 3 ring binder and just pull the words you need. It’s the top 100 sight words and they are in alphabetical order ready to go!! I even included blank templates for you to write any words you may need that aren’t included.
