My students have an interactive notebook. We use it for journal writing, reader’s response, phonics practice, and sight word exercises.
These sentence scramblers are in a dotted font. The students can trace them. The dotted font helps with handwriting and ensures they spell the sight word correctly. We will progress to rewriting the sentence beneath the pasted sentence. Eventually we will rewrite and illustrate!
Sentences are either four or five words each. Simply use a paper cutter to cut the sentences into strips. then simply pass out the strips. The students will cut the words apart and create their sentence! These words come from the Dolch Sight word lists and supplement the first Grade Reading Wonders Series.
