Sentence practice that focuses on emergent sight word identification and practice in a 'sentence' context.
Each worksheet has 5 different activities that are centered on a simple sentence…
1) read the sentence (with a simple illustration to assist students in remembering the sentence)
2) draw a picture (adding their own illustration for the sentence)
3) trace the sentence (great writing practice)
4) make the sentence (cut and paste activity)
5) write the sentence
These are perfect for Kindergarten students (possibly lower ability Grade 1 students). After students have completed a few of these worksheets and are familiar with the process, this becomes a fairly independent activity for them (after practicing reading the new focus simple sentence with the teacher).
These also make for a fantastic independent taskboard or centre activity (in reading or writing).
