This resource includes quick and easy hands-on activities designed to engage the emergent reader. Adorable graphics are included to help the student with comprehension of each sentence.
Sight Word Sentence Sets – I am (Set 1) includes 12 sentences that begin with the sight word phrase, “I am.” Each worksheet contains one sentence that is read and repeated, and then written in four different ways. To show comprehension of the sentence, the student will illustrate each sentence.
Vocabulary: -Pre-primer words, Dolch nouns, high frequency words
*Pages 1–12 –Read the sentence. -Trace the sentence. -Write the sentence. -Fill in the missing word in the sentence. -Color the words in the sentence. -Illustrate the sentence.
*Page 13-14 Differentiation: -The student will create his or her own sight word sentences. -Step-by-step instructions are given for this cut and glue activity.
*Page 15 –Color each word. (See the color key on the page.)
*Page 16-17 -Literacy Center Activity: Flashcards for Set 1 -Have fun practicing the words with your partner. –Note: Run copies on paper of the desired thickness you want for the flashcards.
