Sight Word Sentence Sets – “He is, She is" – Set 3 includes quick and easy printable worksheets designed to engage the emergent reader. Make learning to read fun with these simple hands-on activities.

Use this packet in several ways: for independent practice, as reinforcement, remediation, homework, or as a challenge to the younger student who is “ready” to learn to read.

• Build sight word vocabulary
• Build sentence sense
• Improve comprehension

Full color graphics are included and help the beginning reader with the comprehension of each sentence. Sight Word Sentence Set 3 contains the following vocabulary from pre-primer and primer level sight words, CVC patterned words, common Dolch nouns and high frequency words: He, She, is, at, in, the, home, house, school, farm, table, game, car, box, bed, barn, tree, garden.

Aligned with the following © 2014 Common Core Standards:

RF.K.1
Demonstrate understanding of the organization and basic features of print.
a. Follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page.
b. Recognize that spoken words are represented in written language by specific sequences of letters.
c. Understand that words are separated by spaces in print.

RF.K.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
c. Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).

Read emergent-reader texts with purpose and understanding.

RI.K.3
With prompting and support, describe the connection between two individuals, events, ideas, or pieces of information in a text.

With prompting and support, describe the relationship between illustrations and the text in which they appear (e.g., what person, place, thing, or idea in the text an illustration depicts).

W.K.8
With guidance and support from adults, recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question.

SL.K.5
Add drawings or other visual displays to descriptions as desired to provide additional detail.

Directions:

*Pages 1–12 –Read the sentence. -Trace the sentence. -Write the sentence. -Fill in the missing word in the sentence. -Color the words in the sentence. -Illustrate the sentence to show comprehension.

*Page 13-14 Differentiation: -The student will create his or her own sight word sentences. -Step-by-step instructions are given for this cut-and-glue activity.

*Page 15 –Trace and color inside each word. (See the color key.)

*Page 16-18 -Flashcards for Set 3 -Have fun practicing the words with a partner. –Note: Run copies on paper of the desired thickness you want for the flashcards.

*A booklet cover is included, just in case you want one.
