To complete, students read the title and use the title as a sentence starter to write four sentences. Each sentence should use the highlighted sight word. Students use the words in the word bank in their sentences. Each word in the word bank is accompanied by a picture, which will help students decode the word.
In addition to practicing their sight words, students will strengthen their sentence writing skills, as they are reminded on each page to use proper conventions. Take advantage of teachable moments, such as using a/an correctly and subject/verb agreement, as well as, teaching the various parts of speech and proper use of punctuation.

The same sight words are used (minus the First Hundred Fry Words), and many of the titles and words in the illustrated word bank are the same. In the Sight Word Sentence Booklets, students practice writing the sight words and reading the sentences. They DO NOT write any sentences. You can extend these sight word sentence writing sheets by pairing them with the booklets and vice versa.
