MOVE OVER FLASHCARDS! Sight Word Sentences are here to save the day!
This PowerPoint is a 167-slide presentation chock full of sight words! 100 sight words, to be exact. They are listed below.
The 100 sight words I chose for this presentation are derived from a combination of Dolch Lists and CORE Reading Academy lists. In my nearly 10 years of experience in teaching Kindergarten, when students master these words, they leave for First Grade fluent, confident readers of K- (and higher!) level books.
The presentation includes 100 sight words broken up into 5 sets of 20 words each. For each set found in the presentation, the first slide is a review of those 20 words (advanced by a simple click of the mouse/tap of the spacebar/touch of the SMARTBoard), one-by-one. Once the next slide is advanced, your students will be given 30-32 slides of sight word-rich sentences! All words included in each set are ONLY those that have been included in the current (and previous, as they build upon one another) set of 20 words. For words that are NOT sight words in each sentence, a picture clue is included to help students make meaning of their sentences without stopping to sound out.
THERE ARE 156 SIGHT WORD-RICH SENTENCES IN THIS PRESENTATION! WHOAH!!!!
The only set up you’ll need to do after this PowerPoint is downloaded is to install the KG Red Hands font (a font that is VERY Kinder-friendly, might I add)! Once you’ve installed the font found at this link --→ http://www.kimberlygeswein.com/2014/10/15/kg-red-hands-font-regular-and-outline/ by downloading, extracting the file, and clicking “install”, your students are in for a world of sight word fun!
Of course, it is a completely editable PowerPoint, so if you want to switch out some words for ones you just HAVE to have, feel free!
Have TONS of FUN! ☺
