I'm always thinking of new ways to improve sight word instruction, especially in my Intervention groups. Here is a fun engaging way to helps students identify and spell sight words! Please see PREVIEW for list of sight words. These were taken from Jan Richardson's Guided Resource for Levels A-E.
I use magnetic trays and magnetic letters to place mats on. Each student will ned the letters used to make each word for there mat. The spinners can be pre-programmed or you can let the students write in the letters they need for there words.
Students will spin the spinner and begin to build their sight words using the magnetic letters. If the students fills all their words, they will say the sight words and start again or play with new words.
