A fun sight word game for individuals or for small groups.
This sight word game helps in creating speed and confidence in reading.
The teacher calls out a word, and then the student finds the word and
splats the fly with a fly swatter!
Materials : Fly cards and a fly swatter
Getting ready:Lay out the cards on a flat surface with the word facing up.
Make sure the cards all look the same except for the word on the card.
Space out the cards evenly and appropriately.
Variations:EASY: For beginning readers, it is a good idea to start
out with about 5 words and then work your way up to
10 cards as the student progresses in level and/or age.
HARD: You can challenge a student by putting similar
words together, (e.g.,the, this, that, there, them, then) and speeding up the pace of the game.
